Staff at DSC Attorneys were delighted to return to the Christine Revell Children’s Home to visit the amazing staff and children, and to donate a range of supplies for the Home’s annual bazaar.
The bazaar, which was held at the end of March 2019, was a huge success, raising over R40,000 for the Home.
About Christine Revell Children’s Home
The Christine Revell Children’s Home in Athlone cares for up to 49 babies and young children, placed by the courts because they’re neglected, abandoned, abused or orphaned.
The Home receives a small monthly subsidy per child from the Department of Social Development of the Western Cape. For everything else, it depends on donations.
DSC Attorneys’ involvement
Staff at DSC Attorneys, including secretary Hayley Peters and one of the firm’s directors, Kirstie Haslam, began making donations to Christine Revell Children’s Home many years ago. The firm then partnered with the Home in 2017.
Some highlights of DSC Attorneys’ involvement were taking the children out for a day of fun at Bugz Family Playpark and, more recently, visiting the home to play with the kids and donate much-needed bedding.
We continue to be delighted by the children, and amazed by and grateful for the good work done by the Home.
You can support the Christine Revell Children’s Home by making a direct donation or nominating the home as a beneficiary on your MySchool card. Also consider visiting the Home’s website to check the list of items that are currently needed, in case you can help.
