Catherine Klaasen (LL.B.)

Catherine matriculated from St Cyprian’s School in 2017 and was subsequently accepted at the University of Cape Town, where she was awarded her LL.B. in 2023. During her time at university, she participated in various outreach programmes, including serving as a Student Legal Advisor and teaching Constitutional Law to high school learners.

Following her studies, Catherine completed her practical vocational training courses at the School for Legal Practice and then went on to gain almost two years’ experience in the in-house legal environment of one of South Africa’s largest companies. This experience provided her with valuable insight into the legal profession and allowed her to develop practical legal skills.

Catherine joined DSC as a Candidate Legal Practitioner in October 2026, where she supports Chris Smit in his large litigation practice.
