In the interview, Kirstie discusses the legal obligations that apply, as well as steps to take to protect yourself legally. Not all of these are widely known.
Among the issues covered in the interview are:
- ensuring you have blood drawn within a two-hour window after an accident to prove your blood alcohol is below the legal limit
- when and where – and within what time frame – to report a car accident (and why it’s advisable to do this even if the accident has already been reported by another party)
- making sure you don’t inadvertently admit fault at the scene of an accident
- when it’s permissible to move vehicles off the road after a collision has occurred.
