Candidate Legal Practitioner

After graduating from Thengwe High School in Limpopo, Ronewa successfully earned her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Pretoria, graduating in 2023. Her academic achievements were acknowledged with a Dean’s Merit Award and a Scholarship from the Jakes Gerwel Fellowship. In 2023, she stood out as the sole undergraduate at her university to receive a Mail and Guardian award, recognizing her as one of the top 200 Young South African Visionaries actively contributing to the future of South Africa in education and justice. In addition to her LL.B. degree, she holds dual qualifications from the E-commerce program offered by AWIEF (Africa Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum), in collaboration with UNIDO.

Throughout her academic journey, Ronewa collaborated with various non-profit organizations to gain practical insights into law, across diverse workplace settings. She also undertook vacation work with Herbert Smith Free Hills and the University of Pretoria Law Clinic.

In her final year, Ronewa served as a Student Councillor at the Law Clinic of the University of Pretoria, engaging in simulated and live-client consultations, managing case files, conducting legal research, providing legal opinions, and drafting correspondence, pleadings, and court documents. Additionally, she actively participated in moot court actions and application proceedings.

Ronewa relocated to Cape Town in early 2024, when she secured a position as a Candidate Legal Practitioner with DSC Attorneys. She is presently assisting Jan Potgieter in his demanding litigation practice
