Cornelia holds a B. Soc. Sc. nursing degree from the University of the Orange Free State, a diploma in Intensive Care Nursing from the Nursing College of the Orange Free State, an advanced diploma in Health Science Education from the University of South Africa, as well as an LL.B. degree from the University of South Africa. Cornelia spent almost 15 years working in both state and private health care facilities. The majority of these years were spent in critical care.
After completing her studies in Health Science Education, Cornelia spent almost 8 years lecturing nursing students (basic and post basic nursing) at a private nursing school in the Western Cape.
Having decided to use her vast experience in the medical field in pursuing a career in law, Cornelia undertook her LL.B. studies through UNISA and secured articles with DSC Attorneys in 2014 and was admitted as an attorney in 2016.
Cornelia was appointed as a professional assistant at DSC Attorneys in December 2016, in the medical malpractice litigation department and was promoted to Associate in March 2019. Cornelia has also continued to provide inter alia ethics training to various nurses training organisations, on invitation, as part of DSC’s broader CSR initiatives.
